Oceans ’11 MTS/IEEE KONA

Hilton Waikoloa Village, Kona, Hawai'i September 19-22, 2011 RDSEA's Founder and President sits as Co-Chair of the "MTS Buoy Technology Committee" along with Dr. Walter Paul of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI). For OCEANS '11, RDSEA and colleagues from the First Institute of Oceanography (FIO), Qingdao, China presented the results of three years of work in the Indian Ocean sharing data collected from two buoy and mooring systems recovered since deployed in early 2010. The included paper discusses some preliminary topics. The OCEANS Conference, jointly sponsored by the Marine Technology Society (MTS) and the Oceanic Engineering Society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE/OES), is a major international forum for scientists, engineers, and responsible ocean users to present the latest research results, ideas, developments, and applications in Oceanic Engineering and Marine Technology. OCEANS '11 MTS/IEEE Kona featured tutorials on special interest topics, a comprehensive technical program of lectures and presentations, a student program, and a large exhibit hall with products from over one hundred companies.
