SAIC: Supports atmospheric observation for programs such as NOAA’s Tropical Atmosphere Ocean (TAO) Program. The 55-buoy TAO system collects oceanographic and atmospheric data to monitor, forecast, and understand climate swings associated with El Niño, La Niña, and other weather patterns. SAIC holds the contract for maintaining all buoy systems for NDBC including the 55 site TAO array. RDSEA has contracted for NDBC via SAIC on TAO.
